Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before booking a tour with Omo River Tours ("we," "us," or "our"). By making a booking, you ("the Client," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Booking and Payment

1.1. A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of a completed booking form and a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total tour price.
1.2. The remaining balance is due 60 days before the tour start date. Failure to pay by this deadline may be treated as a cancellation.
1.3. Bookings made within 60 days of departure require full payment at the time of booking.

2. Pricing

2.1. All prices are quoted in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise specified.
2.2. We reserve the right to adjust published prices due to unforeseen circumstances such as significant fluctuations in exchange rates, increases in government-imposed taxes or fees, or changes in park/attraction entry costs. We will inform you of any surcharges before you pay the balance.

3. Cancellations and Changes by Client

3.1. All cancellation notices must be received in writing by email.
3.2. The following cancellation fees apply:
* More than 60 days before departure: Loss of deposit.
* 30-60 days before departure: 50% of total tour cost.
* Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of total tour cost.
3.3. We understand that plans change. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate changes to your itinerary after booking, subject to availability and any additional costs incurred.

4. Changes or Cancellations by Omo River Tours

4.1. We reserve the right to modify itineraries due to factors beyond our reasonable control (e.g., extreme weather, political instability, road closures, park regulations, safety concerns). We will provide suitable alternatives where possible.
4.2. In the unlikely event we must cancel a tour for reasons within our control, you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to an alternative tour.
4.3. We are not liable for any incidental expenses you may have incurred (e.g., non-refundable international flights, visas) due to a cancellation or change.

 

5. Client Responsibilities

5.1. Travel Insurance: Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all clients. Your policy must cover medical expenses, evacuation, trip cancellation/interruption, and loss of personal belongings. You must provide proof of insurance before the tour start date.
5.2. Travel Documents: You are responsible for obtaining a valid passport, necessary visas, and any required or recommended vaccinations.
5.3. Health and Fitness: You must be in good health and disclose any pre-existing medical conditions that may affect your participation. Some tours require a reasonable level of fitness.
5.4. Conduct: You agree to follow the instructions of your guide for your safety and the group's welfare. We reserve the right to terminate your participation, without refund, for dangerous, illegal, or disruptive behavior.

 

6. Assumption of Risk and Limitation of Liability

6.1. Adventure travel in Ethiopia involves inherent risks, including but not limited to: rough road travel, interaction with wildlife, remote locations with limited medical facilities, and cultural practices. You voluntarily assume all such risks.
6.2. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Omo River Tours, its employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including personal injury, illness, death, or loss/damage to property, arising from your participation in the tour.
6.3. Our liability for any successful claim is limited to the total amount you have paid for the specific tour services directly provided by us.

 

7. Privacy

7.1. We collect personal information to process your booking. We will handle this information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

 

8. Jurisdiction

8.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Addis Ababa.
